Thank you for visiting the site of the RAP Outrigger Canoe Conference. I believe this is the first event of this type in the Pacific Northwest. The idea for this was born from the realization that the community across North America is thirsting for more information on all aspects of the dynamic sport of outrigger canoe racing. The sport has grown quickly, moving into small communities and growing in many of the more established ones. There is a lot to know and, in BC, we have several people who have a lot to share. This day and a half conference will give paddlers of all levels something to think about.

Currently slated to speak at the conference are Cheryl Skribe, an international champion steersperson, Rick Nu’u, a highly acclaimed coach, working for many years with the athletes at Hawaii’s top club, Lori Velisek, Molokai OC-6 champion and accomplished OC-1 paddler and coach, and Zoe Norcross-Nu'u, oceanographer and experienced downwind paddler. Stay tuned as more speakers are added to what promises to be an informative and enjoyable weekend!

In addition, optional on-water courses are being offered for new and advanced steerspeople and a stroke improvement course for paddlers at an extra fee. Conference delegates receive a 20% discount on these courses.  Register soon as these courses are filling up fast!!
